Product Description
The Hettich Universal 320 centrifuge is a variable-speed centrifuge that runs at speeds from 500 to 15,000 rpm. This centrifuge is compatible with 19 interchangeable rotors (sold separately) and can accommodate up to 4 x 100mL tubes. The centrifuge automatically senses the rotor type and sets the maximum speed for increased safety of samples. The unit shuts off if a rotor becomes imbalanced or if the motor overheats, for decreased wear. This centrifuge is designed to be used to perform a variety of tasks, including low-speed (standard tubes or plates), high-speed (centrifuge tubes) and high volume (bacteria) separations.
This centrifuge has a timer from 1 second to 99 minutes, 59 seconds, for data accuracy. This centrifuge can be run using either speed or relative centrifugal force (rcf) values for flexibility. This unit is non-refrigerated and does not have temperature control features.

A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
