The Dentsply ProMix 400 amalgamator is used for the mixing of dental alloys, capsule-delivered temporary filling materials, and oral cements.

- The ProMix amalgamator should not be used in cases where a patient or user of the ProMix has been fitted with an implanted heart acemaker and has been cautioned against the use of small electrical appliances (such as electric shavers, hair dryers, etc.)
- The ProMix amalgamator is not suitable for use in the presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture with air or with nitrous oxide.
