Up for sale is a Leica FS C motorized forensic comparison macroscope, Type 352367.
The Leica FS C is a professional laboratory instrument designed for side-by-side examination and comparison of forensic evidence. Typical applications include comparing bullets, cartridge cases, firing-pin impressions, tool marks, documents and other physical evidence.
The comparison bridge allows two objects to be viewed simultaneously for evaluation of small differences in surface markings, shape, texture and other identifying characteristics. Depending upon the installed configuration, the FS C platform supports split-image, individual left-or-right image and superimposed comparison modes.

• Motorized X/Y stage movement

Condition and testing:
This is a used U.S. Government surplus instrument showing scratches, scuffs, finish wear and other normal cosmetic imperfections from age, storage and previous laboratory use.
The system has been connected to power and powers on successfully. During limited testing, the right-side stage appeared to respond and operate as expected. The motorized movement on the left-side stage appears to be disengaged or nonfunctional and may require adjustment, repair or replacement.
The accessible control buttons and adjustment knobs responded during limited testing; however, the instrument has not been fully inspected or tested through every function. Optical alignment, image quality, magnification accuracy, comparison-bridge alignment, illumination, calibration and all motorized functions have not been professionally verified.
No calibration certificate, service records or certification of suitability for forensic evidentiary work are included. Professional inspection, servicing, alignment and calibration should be completed before the instrument is placed into laboratory or forensic service.
Includes all and only the Leica macroscope, stages, controls, optical components, cables and accessories shown in the photographs. Computer equipment, camera system, imaging software, manuals, additional specimen holders and other accessories are not included unless clearly pictured.

Sold as power-on tested with a known issue affecting the left motorized stage.
