The HP 8563A is a professional synthesized spectrum analyzer designed for RF and microwave signal measurement, troubleshooting and analysis. Typical applications include communications testing, RF laboratory work, microwave equipment servicing, interference analysis, transmitter testing and advanced amateur-radio applications.

Condition and testing:
This is a used U.S. Government surplus instrument showing scratches, scuffs, discoloration, finish wear and other normal cosmetic imperfections from age, transportation, storage and previous use.
The unit has been connected to power and powers on successfully. The CRT display illuminates and appears bright, clear and responsive, as shown in the photographs. The front-panel controls and on-screen menus respond during basic power-on inspection.
No external RF signal source or calibrated spectrum-analysis equipment was used during testing. Frequency accuracy, amplitude accuracy, resolution bandwidths, RF input sensitivity, attenuator operation, sweep performance, frequency-counter accuracy, calibration output, demodulation functions, memory, HP-IB communication and operation throughout the complete 9 kHz–26.5 GHz range have not been independently verified.
No current calibration certificate is included. Professional inspection and calibration may be required before laboratory, production or certified measurement use.
