It provides both continuous and intermittent suction operation, allowing continuous vacuum for applications such as airway management and intermittent operation for drainage procedures. The Vacutron design incorporates safety features intended to limit excessive vacuum and maintain a stable selected vacuum level when source conditions fluctuate.
